Lviv. Market Square

Market Square is the central square in Lviv, the historical heart of the modern city, a characteristic phenomenon for the medieval architecture of European cities. The area was formed in the XIV century as an example of regular planning of the development of medieval European cities, the center of commercial and social life. The architectural appearance of the square was formed in the heyday of the Renaissance style in Lviv. The buildings were built by order of wealthy nobles and wealthy merchants since the plots in the central city square of the city were very expensive. Only gentiles and higher clergy had the right to build houses above three floors high; only they had the right to place more than three windows on the façade on one floor. This left its mark on the architectural appearance of the buildings: most of the houses are built on narrow, elongated in the depths of the plots.  The components of the townhouses are the main building, the inner courtyard and the rear wing.

Львiв. Площа Ринок

Пло́ща Ри́нок — центральний майдан у Львові, історичне серце сучасного міста, характерне явище для середньовічної архітектури європейських міст. Площа була сформована  у XIV столітті як приклад  регулярного планування забудови середньовічних європейських міст, центр торговельного та суспільного життя . Архітектурний вигляд площі формувався в період розквіту у Львові стилю ренесанс . Будівлі споруджувались за замовленням багатої знаті та заможних купців, оскільки ділянки на центральній міській площі міста були дуже дорогими. Лише шляхта та вище духовенство мали право споруджувати будинки вище трьох поверхів заввишки; лише вони мали право розміщувати на фасаді більше трьох вікон на одному поверсі. Це наклало свій відбиток на архітектурний вигляд будівель: більшість будинків побудовані на вузьких, видовжених  в глибину ділянках.  Складовими кам’яниць є головна будівля, внутрішнє  подвір’я та тильна офіцина.
