Vyzhnyany.  St. Mykolai Church (Church of St. Nicholas) 

There is an extremely beautiful yet severely damaged building of St. Mykholai Church located in the village of Vyzhnyany, which is 40 km east from Lviv on the former very busy Glynyansky tract.

Founded in 1400, it was robbed twice and burned in the XVII century by Tatars, and each subsequent reconstruction and multiple restoration, as well as completion and expansion for the needs of the community created a special combination of different styles both in appearance and in the interior. 

In the period between wars, the Church was rebuilt according to the project of Bronislaw Victor. The interiors were painted by Stanislav Teisair, Roman and Margit Selsky. The statue of St. Joseph on the façade is made by Marian Vnuk. 

The real desolation for the architectural monument came with the arrival of the Soviet authorities, who used it as warehouses for products and chemicals. Only thanks to the private funds from Poland and the enthusiasm of residents, was it possible to stop the destruction and begin the restoration of the building. 

У селі Вижняни 40км  від Львова на колишньому дуже людному Глинянському тракті знаходиться надзвичайно красива, але дуже поруйнована споруда – костел святого Миколая. Закладений ще у 1400 році, він був двічі пограбованим і спаленим у XVII ст. татарами, а кожна наступна відбудова і багаторазова реставрація, а також добудова і розширення для потреб громади створила особливе поєднання різних стилів як у зовнішньому вигляді, так і в інтер’єрі.

У міжвоєнний період був перебудований за проєктом Броніслава Віктора. Інтер'єри розписали Станіслав Тейсейр, Роман та Маргіт Сельські. Статуя святого Йосифа на фасаді виконана Мар'яном Внуком.

Справжнє запустіння для пам’ятки архітектури настало з приходом совітської влади, котра розмістила тут склади для продуктів та хімікалій. Лише завдяки залученню приватних коштів з Польщі та ентузіазму місцевих мешканців вдалося зупинити руйнування і розпочати відновлення споруди.
